Piotr in 2015 TCS New York City Marathon

It was a beautiful day for running in New York, and great conditions for the over 50,500 athletes that competed in the 2015 TCS New York City Marathon.
Among them was of course Xomox’s fastest – Piotr Swiderski.

Piotr was running for his newborn son ERYK-VINCENT and finished in 3:16:13, nearly 15 minutes quicker than back in 2013.

This year, like on any other years, among thousands of running enthusiasts were also sport, film and music celebrities. Tennis player, James Blake, running for the cancer researching James Blake Foundation, finished in 3:51:19, academy Award nominated Ethan Hawke, running for the Doe Fund, finished in 4:25:30 and singer, Alicia Keys run her second marathon for the Keep A Child Alive charity and finished in 5:50:52.

Mary Keitany became the first woman to repeat victory second time in a row since Paula Radcliffe in 2008. She finished in 2:24:25, beating Ethiopia’s Aselefech Mergia by 67 seconds for the largest margin of victory since Radcliffe’s 2008 title.

Stanley Biwott won his first major marathon title. He finished in 2:10:34, beating countryman Geoffrey Kamworor by 14 seconds. Reigning Boston Marathon winner Lelisa Desisa was third and defending champion was Wilson Kipsang fourth.

Piotr finished 2065th of 50,530 runners and 376th in his age group. You can find the link with the results here
